Vela Luka - island Korcula

Vela Luka is the largest and oldest inhabited city on the island of Korcula and has about 5,000 inhabitants. From town Korcula it is about 42 km. This town was popular as the largest spa in the treatment of rheumatic diseases. In the Cultural Center are exposed archaeological finds from the cave of Vela Spilja. The city center is a classicist church St. Josip from 1848.
In the vicinity of Vela Luka are bays suitable for swimming and especially attractive for lovers of peace and quiet is the small wooded island Osjak. On the southern slopes of the island are stone and stepped terraces from the old vineyards. From Vela Luka you can go by boat to the beach Proizd.
