Kolan is a municipality and settlement on the island of Pag, located in Zadar County. It is located between the two largest settlements on the island of Pag and Novalja, closer to Novalja. The inhabitants of Kolana are mainly engaged in agriculture, primarily sheep and viticulture, and tourism. Tourism is especially present in the coastal village of Mandre. In the neighboring village of Simuni, which belongs to the town of Pag, there is a marina. Nearby Novalja is the most famous tourist destination on the island. Kolan houses two famous island cheese dairies (Sirana Gligora, the most awarded cheese factory in Croatia, but also one of the most awarded cheese dairies in the world, and also the internationally awarded MIH Sirana Kolan, which significantly contribute to the municipality's economy.
